Bioenergetics and Health

In science, bioenergetics is the study of the flow of energy through living systems. The role of energy is fundamental to the biological process of growth, development and metabolism. In the definition from Wikipedia, “the ability to harness energy from a variety of metabolic pathways is a property of all living organisms. Life is dependent on energy transformations; living organisms survive because of exchange of energy within and without.”

From another perspective, bioenergetics is also about the flow of more subtle energies in the system. The subtle energy system in the body is in many ways a mirror of the physical system except that it operates in a more subtle field. There are energy centers that correspond to the body’s physical organs and there are meridian pathways that are similar to the circulatory and nervous systems except that they are the pathways of subtle subatomic energy flow.
